In 2002, 12 race team syndicates stopped in Auckland as part of the Volvo Around the World race.  Lloyd led the project operations for Auckland City Council.

  • Constructed and managed the syndicate compound for teams and all related requirements within the Viaduct Village.
  • Coordinated Customs, MAF, Police, Council, ACVL, Ports of Auckland, Volvo Event Management, syndicates and contractors.  Arranged corporate sponsorship and public entertainment.
  • The Auckland stopover was acknowledged by Volvo Event Management, the syndicates and sponsors as the best leg of the event globally and unanimously praised the event management.  Public attendance over the 29 day event exceeded 500,000, including 55,000 on the day of an 8 hour concert.
